Rain Hits Karachi as Dark Clouds Appear in the City

Lahore is set to experience dry weather during the days of Eid ul Adha, but the Meteorological Office has forecasted rain and gusty winds in the city and parts of Punjab later in the week.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted very hot and dry weather in most parts of the province, including Lahore, from June 16 to June 18.

According to the Met Office, moist currents from the Arabian Sea are expected to reach the upper and central parts of the country, including Islamabad, starting on June 18. Additionally, a shallow westerly wave is likely to approach western areas of the country on June 18.

This weather system is anticipated to bring heavy rain accompanied by strong winds to various cities and districts, including Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Murree, Galliyat, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Kasur, Okara, Sheikhupura, Faisalabad, Toba Tek Singh, Jhang, Khushab, Sargodha, Bhakkar, and Mianwali, from June 18 (evening or night) to June 22, with occasional breaks.

Additionally, thunderstorms and rain are expected in various areas, including Dir, Swat, Malakand, Bajaur, Kohistan, Chitral, Shangla, Battagram, Buner, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Haripur, Peshawar, Mardan, Kohat, Hangu, Kurram, and Waziristan on Friday evening and Saturday morning.

While very hot and dry weather is likely to persist in southern parts of the province from June 16 to June 18, the forecast suggests significant rainfall and thunderstorm activity in several areas of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during the specified period.
