Pakistani female research scholar wins ISSCR travel award

KARACHI: The International Society for Stem Cell Research (ISSCR) has awarded a female MPhil scholar of the Dr. Panjwani Center for Molecular Medicine and Drug Research (PCMD), University of Karachi, an ISSCR Travel Award worth $1550 to take part in a 4-day ISSCR 2024 Annual Meeting to be held in Hamburg, Germany from July 10-13, 2024.

Prof. Dr. Farzana Shaheen, the Director of the International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences (ICCBS), University of Karachi, congratulated the female MPhil Scholar, Shafiqa Naeem Rajput, and her research supervisor Dr. Irfan Khan.

The director said that this was an honour not only for the University of Karachi but also for the whole nation. She said this is another feather in the ICCBS cap.

It is worth mentioning that the world’s best and brightest in stem cell research and regenerative medicine convene once a year for the ISSCR Annual Meeting. More than 4,000 scientists from 75 countries will take part in the ISSCR 2024 this year.
