Anticipation is mounting for the sighting of the Zilhaj moon, as per an official from the Ruet-e-Hilal Research Council who forecasts that the moon for Eid is likely to be visible on June 7.

According to Khalid Ijaz Mufti, Secretary General of the Ruet-e-Hilal Research Council, Eid-ul-Azha is anticipated to fall on Monday, June 17.

Mufti predicts that the moon will be born on June 6 at 5:38 pm, and with its age being 25 hours by sunset on June 7, visibility is highly probable.

The research council suggests that clear weather conditions will facilitate the sighting of the Eid-ul-Azha moon.

Meanwhile, the official 2024 holiday calendar designates Eid-ul-Azha holidays from June 17 to 19. Given the typical closure of government offices on Saturdays and Sundays, the holiday period will essentially commence on June 15.

However, if Eid-ul-Azha is confirmed for June 18, the federal government is expected to adjust the holiday schedule accordingly. A formal notification outlining the revised holidays will be issued by the federal government in the days preceding Eid-ul-Azha.
