Carlos Alcaraz successfully retained his Wimbledon title, overcoming Novak Djokovic in straight sets on Centre Court. The young Spaniard showcased a mix of power and skill to triumph with scores of 6-2, 6-2, 7-6 (7/4), marking his fourth major title win.

At just 21, Alcaraz has equaled the Open Era record for Grand Slam wins at his age, joining the ranks of tennis legends like Becker, Borg, and Wilander. He also became the sixth player to win the French Open and Wimbledon back-to-back.

The match began with a high-quality 14-minute game where Alcaraz broke Djokovic’s serve on his fifth opportunity. He maintained his strong serve and capitalized on Djokovic’s double fault to lead with a double break.

Djokovic, in his tenth Wimbledon final, managed to hold his serve but then lost the first set after a net error. Alcaraz continued his aggressive play into the second set, breaking early and resisting Djokovic’s attempts to break back, eventually taking a two-set advantage.

The third set saw Djokovic fend off break points and show glimpses of his top form. Nonetheless, Alcaraz broke him in the ninth game and was poised to win the championship. Despite missing three match points and Djokovic breaking back, Alcaraz regained his focus to win the tie-break and the championship on his fourth championship point.

Djokovic, having not beaten a top-ten player this year, remains titleless and will now look forward to competing for an Olympic gold medal in Paris.
