Family of road accident victim Shakil Tanoli demand justice
ISLAMABAD: The family members of youngster , who was killed in car accident two years ago in Islamabad, set up a protest camp outside the National Press Club in the federal capital to seek justice.
The protesters demanded action against those responsible for the death of Shakeel Tanoli in the car accident two years ago.
Shakeel’s father Raffaqat Tanoli told media that it was found during a police investigation that the vehicle was being used by the judge of the Lahore High Court (LHC).
He said that they approached the Islamabad High Court (IHC) on the Islamabad police’s laxity in the proceedings.
Earlier, in 2022, a vehicle allegedly driven by the daughter of a Lahore High Court judge hit two people near the Sohan bridge on the Islamabad Expressway on June 8, 2022 midnight.
The investigation into the case had remained stalled.
According to judicial record, Shakeel Tanoli and his colleague Hasnain Ali were going home at midnight when they were hit by an SUV allegedly driven by a woman.
According to the details, the woman fled the scene after leaving the vehicle behind. The police seized the vehicle, which was subsequently transferred to an official of the Lahore High Court on’superdari’ in July 2022, with the assurance that he would produce the vehicle in court as and when required.
