In Islamabad, Federal Minister Abdul Aleem Khan directed the National Highway Authority (NHA) to reassess the Sialkot-Rawalpindi Motorway and expand it from four lanes to six.

In a high-level meeting led by Minister Abdul Aleem Khan, it was decided to enhance the Sialkot-Rawalpindi Motorway to meet long-term national needs rather than immediate demands alone.

A high-level meeting of the National Highway Authority (NHA) addressed the progress of various projects in Balochistan, Sindh, and Gilgit-Baltistan.

Additionally, he instructed the National Highway Authority to convert the Lahore-Sialkot Motorway into an unrestricted corridor. The meeting also covered plans to install live surveillance cameras on all highways and construction sites to enable remote monitoring of ongoing construction activities round the clock.

Furthermore, the federal minister instructed the NHA to initiate the phased construction of the Rs. 150 billion N25 highway in Baluchistan. He also emphasized the importance of third-party evaluations for repair projects on various roads to ensure efficient use of government funds.

He emphasized that highways and motorways are crucial national assets, stressing the importance of planning for future needs amidst a growing population. He further highlighted the necessity to prioritize the construction of roads that can contribute to the country’s economic development.
