ISLAMABAD: The federal government has taken decisive steps to resolve the ongoing passport issuance crisis by approving the acquisition of additional printing machines, announced here on Thursday.

Government Action

In response to the pressing need, the Deputy General (DG) Passport and Immigration has drafted a requisition and forwarded it to the Ministry of Home Affairs. This requisition outlines plans to procure six desktops and two e-passport machines. Officials have highlighted that these new machines are capable of printing up to 1,000 passports per hour.
