Heatstroke: death toll rises to 49 in Karachi

KARACHI: At least four more people died in Karachi due to the heatstroke related complications and death toll has reached 49 in the city from June 21 to July 1, 2024.

According to the statistics issued Sindh Health Department, 4 more people died of heat stroke in Karachi today, all four deaths were reported at Abbasi Shaheed Hospital(ASH).

Abbasi Shaheed Hospital has the highest number of deaths due to heat stroke, 23 deaths due to heat stroke were reported in ASH.

So far 18 people have died of heat stroke in Dr Ruth Pfau Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK) while three patients have died of heat stroke in Sindh Government Qatar Hospital Orangi Town so far.

Meanwhile, five people have died of heat stroke in Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) so far.
