Karachi authorities have unveiled a comprehensive traffic plan ahead of the Muharram processions scheduled on the 8th, 9th, and 10th of Muharram. The main procession is set to commence from Nishtar Park and conclude at Husainia Iranian Kharadar.

According to the traffic police, strict measures will be implemented to regulate traffic flow along the procession route. Guru Mandir Chowk will be closed to traffic entering the procession route, while MA Jinnah Road will be entirely closed to regular traffic during the processions. However, vehicles with special permits will be permitted to access MA Jinnah Road.

Authorities emphasized that MA Jinnah Road will be closed from Guru Mandir to Tower during the specified times. Traffic originating from Nazimabad will be rerouted via Nishtar Road and Garden through Lasbela Chowk, whereas vehicles from Liaquatabad will be redirected to Lasbela Chowk from Teen Hatti.

Drivers are strongly advised to plan alternate routes in advance to avoid disruptions. This traffic management strategy aims to ensure the smooth progression of processions and guarantee the safety of participants and the general public.
