KP Govt bans treatment from abroad, purchase of vehicles

PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has banned the purchase of new vehicles including spending on workshops, seminars and treatment abroad at government expense.

These decisions have been taken on behalf of the provincial government under the guidelines of austerity policy.

The finance department has sent a letter to all the departments and institutions related to financial discipline and the guidelines formulated for financial discipline have been approved by the provincial cabinet.

The letter stated that the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ali Amin Gandapur can relax the ban on the creation of vacancies on a case-by-case basis.

It is said in the post that there will be a ban on the purchase of vehicles other than ambulances, fire trucks, tractors, buses and machinery, while a ban has also been imposed on participation in workshops, seminars and training abroad at government expense, treatment abroad at the expense of the provincial government. There will also be a ban on treatment abroad at the expense of the provincial government.

The letter stated that the contract period of the project employees will be extended in consultation with the Finance Department and no appointment will be made to vacant posts without the prior approval of the Finance Department. No department will keep receipts in bank accounts.
