Pakistan concerned over ‘Racist and Islamophobic’ remarks in UK
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) in Pakistan has increased the attestation fees for legal documents starting July 8, 2024, adding to the financial burden on citizens.
The new document attestation fees are significantly higher than the previous rates. Here is a detailed comparison:
Type of Document | New Attestation Fee | Old Attestation Fee |
---|---|---|
Personal and educational | Rs. 3,000 | Rs. 500 |
Legal | Rs. 4,500 | Rs. 700 |
Commercial | Rs. 12,000 | Rs. 3,000 |
The Foreign Office spokesperson announced that from July 8, 2024, the Ministry has resumed attestation for educational documents, legal papers, and commercial documents. Pakistanis can now use the MOFA online system for attestation, and liaison offices in Lahore and Karachi are also available.
To streamline the process, MOFA has removed the need for prior appointments for document attestation. This change aims to make it easier and quicker for citizens to get their documents attested.
Document attestation by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is valid for six months. Citizens should ensure their documents are re-attested if not used within this period.
For more information, visit the official MOFA website or contact your nearest liaison office.
