Peshawar, KPK weather update: NDMA issues flood, landslide warning!
PESHAWAR: The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has issued a flood and landslide alert across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) on Friday in anticipation of heavy rainfall.
According to an NDMA spokesperson, the alert covers several districts, including Charsadda, Chitral, Mansehra, Peshawar, Shangla, and Swat. The alert warns of potential floods and landslides in hilly areas, posing risks to lives and property.
Emergency services have been instructed to stay vigilant and ensure readiness with necessary equipment, machinery, and rescue resources to respond promptly to any emergencies.
The NDMA advises the public to avoid crossing flooded rivers and entering waterlogged areas. It urges everyone to take necessary precautions for their safety.
Meanwhile, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore, and other parts of Punjab experienced heavy rain accompanied by strong winds. This rainfall brought relief from the heat in areas such as Shadman, Gulberg, Model Town, Jail Road, and Ichhra in Lahore.
Additionally, Gujarat and surrounding areas reported heavy rainfall, while Azad Kashmir, including Dadyal, Chakswari, Islamgarh, Kada Sharif, Jatlan, and Mangala, also experienced significant rain showers.
As the region braces for potential flooding and landslides due to expected heavy rains, residents are advised to stay informed about weather updates and heed safety precautions to mitigate risks during this weather event.
