ISLAMABAD: Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Omar Ayub urged the Judicial Commission of Pakistan (JCP) to reject the proposal of appointing of ad hoc judges to the Supreme Court.

Leader of the Opposition Omar Ayub wrote a letter to the Judicial Commission in which it has been said that “If we look at the time, we get the impression that the proposal of appointment of ad hoc judges came up immediately after the decision of 8 and 5 judges of the Supreme Court regarding reserved seats”.

According to the text of the letter, there should not be an impression of leveling the opinion of the Supreme Court against one party, the public is the ultimate stakeholder of an independent and impartial judiciary.

It should be noted that the Judicial Commission of Pakistan has approved the appointment of Justice Retired Sardar Tariq Masood and Justice Retired Mazhar Alam Miankhel as ad hoc judges in the Supreme Court.
