Pakistan Railways decreases fares for passenger trains

LAHORE: Pakistan Railways has reduced the fares of passenger trains from August 03 to benefit travelers across the country.

Railways spokesperson said the reduction has been made for all classes of passenger trains.

Spokesperson Railways said that the AC class ticket has been reduced by Rs 100 to Rs 150, while the economy class fares have been reduced by Rs 50.

A spokesperson for Pakistan Railways stated, “The decision to reduce fares is part of our ongoing efforts to make train travel more accessible and affordable for everyone. We hope this initiative will not only benefit our passengers but also boost the overall usage of our rail services.”

According to the Railways spokesperson, the reduction will be applied to all passenger trains from Saturday, August 3.

Earlier, Pakistan Railways has announced one percent to two percent fare increase for all trains from tomorrow.

In a press release, Pakistan Railways said that fares would be increased by one percent for all mail, express, intercity, and passenger trains, including outsourced services.

The fares for all freight trains have been increased by two percent.
