Shahid Afridi meets JUI chief Fazal ur Rehman

KARACHI: Former captain and cricketer Shahid Afridi met with chief of Jamiat Ulema Islam (JUI-F) Maulana Fazal ur Rehman.

The meeting was held at the residence of JUI Sindh Secretary General Allama Rashid Soomro in Karachi.

Other leaders including Allama Rashid Soomro and Allama Nasir Soomro were also present in the meeting between Maulana Fazlur Rehman and Shahid Afridi.

The provincial Secretary of Information for JUI stated that discussions focused on the current political situation in the country.

During the meeting, Maulana Fazlur Rehman commended Shahid Afridi for his dedication to welfare, patriotism, and his commitment to serving the nation.

Afridi also briefed the Maulana about his charitable activities, expressing admiration for Fazlur Rehman’s political insight and his emphasis on reasoned debate.

Earlier, Maulana Fazlur Rehman, the chief of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F), emphasized the necessity of fair elections in Pakistan to ensure the election of genuine public representatives.

He said this while talking to Bol TV programme “Tabdeeli” hosted by senior anchorperson Dr Danish on Sunday.

Fazl said that people are increasingly realizing that their so-called representatives do not truly reflect their interests.

He stressed the importance of fair elections, particularly in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), where he claimed no current representative can genuinely face the people.
