KARACHI: Governor of Sindh Kamran Khan Tessori has urged a public holiday on 11th Rabi’ al-Awwal — and reverence for the day — in a letter to the authorities.

In the letter addressed to the Prime Minister, Sindh Chief Minister and PEMRA Chairman, Tessori expressed the importance of a public holiday in celebrating the blessed event.

He also urged abstention from entertainment like dancing, singing, and films in the revered month of Rabi’ al-Awwal.

He prompted the television channels and cable operators to issue guidelines for the reverence of the month.

Kamran Tessori further shed light on the importance of the programs related to the life and teachings of the Holy Prophet (pbuh) in the upbringing of the youth.
