Three terrorists killed in Nankana Sahib encounter: CTD

LAHORE: At least three terrorists were killed in an exchange of fire with Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) police near Nankana Sahib Interchange.

CTD Spokesperson said an intelligence-based operation(IBO) was conducted near Nankana Sahib Interchange to arrest the terrorists, while the terrorists opened fire on the CTD team.

In the exchange of fire, three terrorists were killed by their own accomplice while two terrorists managed to escape.

CTD spokesman said that 3 hand grenades, 3 detonators, 2 rifles, bullets and explosives were recovered from the possession of the dead terrorists.

The spokesperson of CTD says that an operation has been started to search for the escaped terrorists.

Earlier, The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) foiled a major terror plan in Punjab and arrested 9 terrorists of banned organizations.

CTD spokesperson said arrested 9 terrorists including two terrorists belonging to banned organization Fitna al-Khawarij, during operations in different areas of Punjab.

The spokesperson said that among the arrested terrorists are Abdul Karim, Muhammad Usman, Imran Siddiqui, Muhammad Thanvi, Mustjab Hussain Shah, Shaukatullah, Ahmed Khan, Shiraz Mehmood and Saeed ur Rehman.

The spokesperson said that the terrorists associated with banned organizations.
