CTD arrests 18 terrorists across Punjab

LAHORE: The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) Punjab arrested 18 terrorists while conducting intelligence-based operations(IBO) in various cities of province.

The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) conducted 134 intelligence-based operations in various cities of Punjab, during which 18 terrorists were arrested.

The spokesman said that operations were carried out in Rawalpindi, Lahore, Faisalabad, Gujranwala and other cities.

 

He said three very dangerous terrorists of “Fitna al-Khawarij,” were arrested from Lahore, Faisalabad, Rawalpindi and arms and explosives were seized.

Officials said that during the operation, explosives, 18 detonators, an IED bomb, bullets, maps and other items were recovered.

The terrorists wanted to spread fear by operating at different places.

Earlier, Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) Punjab has arrested 33 terrorists during intelligence-based operations in different cities of Punjab.

CTD spokesperson said CTD conducted 475 IBOs operations in different cities of Punjab in view of terrorism concerns. During the intelligence-based operation, 33 terrorists have been arrested.

The spokesman said the operation was carried out in Lahore, Gujranwala, Mianwali, Bahawalpur, Nankana Sahab, Hafizabad, Rahim Yar Khan, Bhakkar and other areas. During the operation, a dangerous terrorist of Jamaat-ul-Ahrar has been arrested from Lahore.
