PESHAWAR: As many as six people including four cops were martyred and several others injured in suicide attack on a police check post in Mir Ali area of ​​North Waziristan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The law enforcement agencies said several people were also injured in the suicide attack on the police post in Eidak area of ​​Mir Ali. Police officials say that 4 security personnel and two civilians were martyred in the suicide attack.

The police said that rescue operations are going on, dead bodies and injured are being transferred to the hospital.

According to the police, the security forces surrounded the area and started a search operation.

Earlier, At least 10 personnel of the Frontier Constabulary (FC) martyred when terrorists (Khawarij) launched a fierce attack on an FC checkpoint in Darazinda, Dera Ismail Khan.

Spokesperson from the Ministry of Interior, said assault, executed under the cover of darkness, was a well-coordinated effort by militants who targeted the Zam FC checkpoint using heavy weaponry.

The FC soldiers stood firm and courageously fought back, ultimately sacrificing their lives to protect the checkpoint and thwart the terrorists’ assault.

The Ministry of Interior spokesperson confirmed that ten FC soldiers were martyred in the confrontation, and three others sustained injuries.
