Former President Donald Trump has filed a $10 billion lawsuit against CBS following a recent “60 Minutes” interview featuring Vice President Kamala Harris.

The 19-page complaint, submitted on Thursday, alleges that CBS engaged in “partisan and unlawful acts of election and voter interference” by selectively editing portions of Harris’s responses.

Trump’s legal team not only seeks the substantial financial compensation but also demands a court order requiring CBS to release the entire unedited interview.

Trump has voiced frustration about the segment throughout the month, accusing CBS of misconduct after segments on the Gaza conflict aired on both “Face The Nation” and “60 Minutes.” His lawyers claim that CBS manipulated Harris’s statements to harm Trump’s political standing.

According to Trump’s legal team, CBS’s editing caused significant damage to Trump’s support and fundraising, particularly in Texas. The suit was filed in the Northern District of Texas.

CBS responded to the lawsuit, stating it is “entirely without merit” and vowed a strong defense. The legal complaint criticizes Harris’s nomination as an “unprecedented and anti-democratic political coup” and includes grievances against the “Democratic Party establishment” and “legacy media.”

This legal move follows Trump’s recent rally remarks, where he suggested revoking CBS’s broadcasting rights, calling for the network to be “taken off the air.”

Before the lawsuit, CBS rejected Trump’s claims, stating in a letter that there was no basis for legal action or to demand an interview transcript.

The network’s vice president of legal affairs affirmed that the interview was not manipulated and that Harris’s responses were fully presented.
