Funeral prayer of Major Awais Shaheed offered

RAWALPINDI: Funeral prayer for Shaheed Major Muhammad Awais (Resident of District Narowal) who fought gallantly against khwarij terrorists and embraced martyrdom in North Waziristan offered at Miran Shah.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), senior military officers, civil Officials, soldiers, and large elders from the area attended the funeral.

The body of Shaheed Major departed to his native town where he would be buried with full military honor.

The supreme sacrifices of the martyrs for the defence of the motherland will not go in vain. Security Forces of Pakistan are determined to wipe out the menace of terrorism and such sacrifices of our brave soldiers further strengthen our resolve, it further said.

Earlier,  Pakistan Army Major embraced martyrdom, while thirteen Khwarij were sent to hell in three separate operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), an intelligence based operation was conducted by the Security Forces in general area Jani Khel, Bannu District.

During the conduct of operation, troops effectively engaged the Khwarij location and resultantly, two Khwarij were gunned down.

Another intelligence based operation was conducted in North Waziristan District. In ensuing fire exchange, five Khwarij were effectively neutralized by security forces, while eight Khwarij got injured.

However, during intense exchange of fire, Major Muhammad Awais, Pakistan Army officer, who was leading his troops from the front embraced martyrdom.
