Govt extends deadline for submitting Hajj applications

ISLAMABAD: Federal Government has extended the deadline to submit applications for Hajj 2025 till December 10.

According to the Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Chaudhry Salik Hussain, the last date for receiving Hajj applications has been extended till December 10.

He said that all the Hajj applications received till December 3 have been declared successful, all the Hajj applications received in the sponsorship scheme have also been declared successful.

The federal minister said that if more than the quota of applications are received, a balloting will be held, and the applications received in the sponsorship scheme will be declared successful without a balloting.

The minister added that Hajj applications could be submitted online through the portal on the website of the religious ministry.

Earlier,   Ministry of Religious Affairs has decided to extend the deadline for Hajj applications and delay the lucky draw due to a lower-than-expected number of submissions.

Ministry sources revealed that the deadline for applications under the government Hajj scheme is likely to be extended by 13 days. Initially set for December 6, the lucky draw is now proposed to be held on December 19.

So far, around 55,000 applications have been submitted, and the ministry hopes the extension will encourage more people to apply.
