CTD arrests 23 terrorists in Punjab IBOs

LAHORE: The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) Punjab arrested 23 terrorists while conducting operations in various cities of province.

CTD Punjab spokesperson said that 200 Intelligence Based Operations (IBOs) were conducted in different cities of the province, during which 23 terrorists were arrested.

CTD spokesman said that the action was taken in Lahore, Jhelum, Sialkot, Rawalpindi, Gujarat, Mianwali, Sargodha, Faisalabad.

The spokesman said that 7 dangerous terrorists of Fitna-ul-Khawarij were arrested from Lahore along with weapons and explosive materials, maps of the important educational institution of Lahore were also recovered from the terrorists.

The CTD spokesman further said that explosive materials, 4 IED bombs, 33 detonator safety fuses, pamphlets and cash were recovered from the terrorists.

Earlier,  Counter Terrorism Squad (CTD) Sindh arrested two terrorists near Al Manzar, the terrorists wanted to target Rangers vehicles.

The terrorist attempt was foiled in Hyderabad, the Counter-Terrorism Squad (CTD) team arrested two terrorists from near Al-Manzar.

The spokesperson said that the terrorists wanted to target the vehicles of the Rangers. The CTD recovered  two hand grenades, explosives and cash were recovered from the terrorists and the terrorists were identified as Taj Muhammad and Parel.

It may be recalled that in November last year, a terrorist of a banned organization was arrested during a joint operation by CTD and police in Hyderabad.
