FIA arrests woman smuggler allegedly involved in boat accident

LAHORE: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has made significant progress in the investigation of the Mauritanian tragic boat accident.

According to FIA sources, the alleged member of the human trafficking gang has been arrested and the woman has been brought to justice after completing the investigation.

Sources said that during the investigation, the accused has admitted that she and her sons are involved in human trafficking. The accused used to send people to foreign countries with her three sons, while the accused’s son Khawar had a career with 10 people.

According to FIA sources, the accused Khawar had previously gone to Senegal in April 2024, one of the accused’s sons Hassan is in Italy and the other son Farhan is absconding since the incident. Mobile and bank account details of the accused have also been obtained.

On the other hand, FIA has registered 3 cases on the boat accident that happened in Morocco, in which the first case was filed by the family of 2 brothers Irfan and Arsalan of Sialkot, in the case, human trafficker Asghar has been named as the accused, who has been accused by Irfan and 8 million were taken to send Arsalan to Spain.

Irfan and Arsalan, who survived the boat accident, are in the custody of the Moroccan authorities, while the second case has been filed by the family of Ali Raza, a resident of Gujarat, and the third case has also been filed by the family of Khawar Hasan, a resident of Gujarat.

According to FIA sources, the four accused are absconding since the incident and their houses are locked, but their names have been put on the stop list.
