Police officer suspended for torturing elderly man in Multan

MULTAN: Station House Officer (SHO) badly tortured an elderly man in Multan city and a video of incident went viral.

As can be seen in the video, the elderly was going on a motorcycle that the SHO forcefully pulled it from a motorcycle.

However, the SHO did not reveal the cause of the torture of an elderly citizen.

The City Police Officer (CPO) Multan took notice of the incident and immediately suspended SHO Shafiq.

Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif took notice of incident and ordered to arrest police officer involved in torture of elderly man in Multan.

Maryam Nawaz Sharif said she will not allow anyone to oppress the common man and added that there was a lot of trouble watching the footage of violence.

Earleir, At least six people were killed and 31 injured as a gas filled tankers exploded Industrial Estate area of Multan.

According to rescue officials, an explosion in an LPG bowser started a fire and the fragments of the bowser fell on the nearby population.

Rescue officials said that after several hours of struggle, the fire was extinguished, more than 10 vehicles took part in extinguishing the fire and foam was also used.

City Police Officer (CPO) Multan Sadiq Ali said that several houses were destroyed and animals were burnt to death in the gas bower explosion.
