RAWALPINDI: Security forces on Wednesday killed four Khawarij (terrorists) in an operation in North Waziristan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), on the night of January 14 and 15, the forces conducted an intelligence-based operation(IBO) in Spinwam area of North Waziristan, in which four Khawarij(terrorists) were killed.
Security forces recovered arms and ammunition from the possession of the Khawarij(terrorists).
The terrorists were reportedly involved in multiple attacks against security forces and in targeted killings of civilians.
A follow-up sanitization operation is underway to ensure the area is cleared of any remaining threats. “Security forces of Pakistan remain resolute in eradicating terrorism from the country,” stated the ISPR.
President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif paid tribute to the security forces for eliminating four terrorists in an anti-terror operation in Spinwam area of North Waziristan.
The president and prime minister, in separately issued statements, lauded the bravery of the security forces for carrying out a successful intelligence-based operation.
“The entire nation stands united against terrorism. The anti-terror operations will continue till the elimination of terrorism as the security forces are carrying out the operations to achieve the objectives,” President Zardari remarked.
Prime Minister Shehbaz said that the people of Pakistan were proud of their brave security forces.
“We will continue to foil the evil designs of the enemies of the humanity. The government and the security forces are fully resolved to purge the country of terrorism,” he added.
