Police foil terrorists attack on check post at DG Khan

LAHORE: The police on Saturday thwarted terrorist attack on a police check post in Dera Ghazi Khan and forced terrorists to flee from the scene.

According to the Spokesman of Punjab Police, 15 to 20 terrorists attacked the Vahowa Police Station at the Jhangi check post from different sides in the darkness of the night.

Spokesman Punjab Police said that the terrorists used modern weapons including rocket launchers, handgun.

However, the attack was foiled by the police retaliation while the terrorists fled. The police teams have launched search operation in the area.

According to spokesman Punjab Police, Regional Police Officer Dera Ghazi Khan Captain (R) Sajjad Hassan Khan led the police operation while District Police Officer (DPO) DG Khan Syed Ali was also present.

In separate encounters across North Waziristan, security forces engaged in fierce exchanges of fire with militants in Datta Khel, Hassan Khel, Ghulam Khan, and Mir Ali. As a result, six more Khwarij were neutralized.
