Govt blocks passports of 53,000 deported Pakistanis

ISLAMABAD: The federal government has blocked 53,000 passports Pakistanis who were deported from different countries.

Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi visited the Directorate of Immigration and Passport and presided over an important meeting during which he was told that the passports of 53,000 Pakistanis who were deported had been blocked.

Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry, Secretary Interior Mohammad Khurram Agha, Director General Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Riffat Mukhtar Raja and Director General Passport Mustafa Jamal Qazi were also present on the occasion.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi directed all legal issues to be completed as soon as possible for new terms for the passport.

He said that the new terms would prevent beggars and illegal immigration and ensure 100 % implementation on the direction of the passports to be blocked by the department.

Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry said that the decision would send a positive message to the international community.
