ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has established Election Monitoring and Control Centre (EMCC) to ensure transparency and address public complaints during the upcoming PP-52 , Sialkot, provincial assembly by-elections on June 1.

The center, set up at ECP headquarters, is tasked with monitoring the electoral process, offering voters a dedicated platform to voice concerns and ensuring prompt resolution of grievances.

Complaints can be submitted at EMCCs through email at complaints@ecp.gov.pk, emphasizing the availability of a round-the-clock helpline at 051-111-327-000 for their convenience.

The polling for the PP-52 Sialkot by-election will take place on June 1. The election campaign will officially end tonight at 12:00 AM.

The Election Commission has warned that any campaigning after the deadline will result in strict legal action.

On the other hand, Pakistan People’s Party had written to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) against alleged rigging by the government in the PP-52 (Sialkot) by-election.

A letter sent by the PPP’s Central Punjab Information Secretary Shahzad Saeed Cheema requests the ECP to take immediate notice of the alleged rigging by the PML-N government in the PP-52 by-poll.

The letter accuses the government of announcing development works in the provincial assembly constituency after the announcement of the by-poll schedule, terming it a blatant violation of the code of conduct.

He said such actions are laying the foundation for the rigged election and victory of the government candidate, which the ECP and its monitoring team should stop by checking the government “bribes” in the constituency.
