Four terrorists killed in police encounter in Rawalakot

RAWALAKOT:  At least four terrorists were killed while two policemen were martyred and 20 others injured in a joint security operation carried out in Husain Kot, a locality in Rawalakot, Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).

The law enforcement agencies launched  operation in response to intelligence reports about militant presence in the area.

During the exchange of fire and grenade attacks initiated by the terrorists, two officers embraced martyrdom and several personnel sustained injuries. The injured have been shifted to a nearby medical facility for treatment.

According to police, two policemen were martyred and 20 were injured in a terrorist firing and grenade attack.

Talking to the media, Senior Superintendent of Police Rawalkot Riaz Mughal said four terrorists were wanted in the murder cases. He further informed that two policemen were martyred and 20 were injured during the operation.

According to the SSP, the terrorists had taken shelter in the forest cave in Hussein Kot, it was reported that the suspects were planning terrorism in Azad Kashmir.
