IG Punjab lauds DSP for over 7,000 blood donations

LAHORE: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, has commended DSP Imran Abbas Chadhar of Gujranwala for his exemplary efforts in organizing blood donation drives to support patients suffering from thalassemia and hemophilia.

A ceremony held in recognition of DSP Chadhar’s contributions was also attended by Additional Inspector General (AIG) Welfare Abdul Rahim Shirazi and PSO to IG Punjab, SP Hamza Amanullah.

Speaking on the occasion, IGP Anwar praised the officer, stating, “Officers like DSP Imran Abbas are a beacon of inspiration for the entire police force.”

According to a Punjab Police spokesperson, DSP Chadhar has facilitated the collection of over 7,000 blood donations over the past three-and-a-half years.

The donated blood, largely provided by Punjab Police personnel, is distributed to various medical organizations in need.

Dr. Anwar also highlighted the welfare initiatives undertaken for the children of police personnel suffering from thalassemia and hemophilia.

He noted that affected children receive quarterly financial assistance of Rs 45,000. This year alone, more than Rs 7 million has been allocated for this purpose, while over Rs 27.3 million was spent on similar support last year.
