ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has ordered the removal of Aleema Khan and former PTI Information Secretary Rauf Hassan’s names from the travel restrictions lists.

During the hearing regarding the removal of Aleema Khan’s name, lawyers Ali Bukhari, Khalid Yousaf Chaudhry, and Niazullah Niazi appeared before the court.

Justice Khadim Hussain Soomro announced the verdict on Aleema Khan’s petition, directing authorities to remove her name from the Passport Control List and the Provisional National Identification List (PNIL).

The court further instructed her to approach the trial court for permission to travel abroad.

In a separate order, the Islamabad High Court also directed the removal of Raoof Hasan’s name from the Passport Control List.

IHC has declared the inclusion of former PTI Information Secretary Raoof Hasan’s name in the Passport Control List (PCL) as illegal and based on mala fide intent.

Justice Inam Amin Minhas accepted Raoof Hasan’s petition for the removal of his name from the PCL and directed him to approach the trial court for permission to travel abroad.

The court further instructed the trial court to decide on his application expeditiously in accordance with the law.

According to Hasan’s counsel, Raoof Hasan is a cancer survivor who needs to travel to the UK for regular medical check-ups. He is currently on bail in a case registered by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).

The lawyer argued that mere registration of a case does not justify placing someone’s name on the PCL, especially when the petitioner undergoes mandatory medical check-ups every six months in the UK.
