Sons fulfill 90-year-old father's wish for second marriage

SHANGLA: in a rare event, four sons in Shangla arranged the wedding of their 90-year-old father, Maulana Saifullah, fulfilling his long-standing wish to remarry.The story has captured widespread attention both locally and across social media platforms, with many praising the family’s gesture.

Saifullah’s first wife passed away seven years ago, after which he expressed his desire for a second marriage.

Respecting his wish, his sons came together to organize the ceremony and support their father’s decision. Seeing a suitable match for their father, the sons got him married to a 55-year-old woman for one tola of dowry.

The wedding ceremony was attended by a large number of relatives, family members, grandchildren and friends.

According to local residents, the son’s move to fulfill his father’s long-held desire to remarry was exemplary, with many calling it a positive step towards changing the social mindset towards remarriage of elders, which is often seen as unconventional.
