KARACHI: Renowned Astronomers have predicted that the moon for the Islamic month of Zil-Hajj is unlikely to be sighted in Pakistan on May 27.

According to Dr. Faheem Hashmi, a prominent astronomer, the new moon will not be visible on May 27 because at the time of sunset, the moon will be only 11 hours old—a duration considered too short for naked-eye visibility.

The prediction suggests that Zil-Hajj is likely to begin from May 29, and Eid-ul-Azha may be observed on June 7, subject to official moon sighting announcements.

Astronomer has predicted Zil -Hajj’s moon on May 28, and in this regard, Eid al -Azha in Pakistan has a strong possibility of Saturday, June 7.

The moon will be more than 35 hours on May 28, he said.
