Dialogue with India on terrorism expected soon, says Field Marshal

WASHINGTON: Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir has stated that discussions with India on the issue of terrorism will take place, and the world will soon witness significant developments.

Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff (COAS), is on an official visit to United States.

During the visit, COAS interacted with the Overseas Pakistani community in Washington DC. The COAS received a warm reception and welcome from the overseas Pakistanis, who gathered in large numbers to meet with the Chief of Army Staff.

The diaspora warmly appreciated the outstanding performance of the Armed Forces during Operation Bunyanum Marsoos / Marka-e-Haq, showcasing their bravery and professionalism.

During the interaction, the COAS expressed his deep appreciation for the vital and most significant role being played by overseas Pakistanis for being ambassadors of Pakistan.

He acknowledged their contributions to the Pakistan’s economy, and global reputation by contributing actively through remittances, investments and higher achievements in other domains.

The overseas Pakistanis shared their experiences and suggestions with the Army Chief. He emphasized the importance of engagement with the overseas Pakistanis, highlighting the need for continued collaboration and cooperation to address common challenges and promote cooperation.

Speaking to nearly 400 prominent Pakistani-American community leaders from across the United States, General Munir revealed that following the recent Pahalgam incident, India reached out to Pakistan with accusations, demanding that Islamabad label the attack as terrorism.

In response, General Munir said, Pakistan firmly conveyed that such incidents are a part of legitimate freedom movements in occupied Kashmir against Indian occupation, and cannot be termed as terrorism.

Pakistan’s Field Marshal General Syed Asim Munir has strongly criticized India’s allegations linking Pakistan to the recent Pahalgam incident, questioning the credibility of the claims and India’s massive security apparatus in the region.
