IRGC Chief warns US of severe response to future aggression

TEHRAN: Commander-in-Chief of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), Major General Mohammad Pakpour, has warned that any renewed aggression by the United States against Iran will be met with a “decisive and crushing response.”

According to Iranian media, this marks Major General Pakpour’s first statement following reports of a ceasefire between Iran and Israel. He congratulated the Iranian nation and the families of the martyrs on what he described as “victory and success” in the recent confrontation.

“If President Trump or the U.S. administration makes another move against Iran, they will receive a firm and unforgettable response,” Pakpour stated.

According to reports, Iran has begun implementing the ceasefire agreement starting at 9:00 AM Pakistan Standard Time. In a reciprocal move, Israel has reopened its airspace, signaling a possible de-escalation in hostilities.

The developments come after a wave of conflicting statements, with former U.S. President Donald Trump claiming a ceasefire deal between the two nations, while Iranian officials initially denied any formal agreement.

As of now, both Iran and Israel appear to be taking steps toward de-escalation on the ground, though no official joint statement confirming the ceasefire has been released by either government.
