Islamabad:  The Meteorological Department has announced that most parts of the country are currently in the grip of a severe heatwave. Hot and dry conditions are expected across vast regions today, with plain areas, in particular, set to experience exceptionally intense heat. Residents are advised to take precautions against these extreme temperatures.

The Meteor Department predicts that most districts of Sindh will face severely hot and dry weather. Strong, dusty winds are also expected to blow across the province. Temperatures will remain high, making conditions uncomfortable throughout the day.

For other parts of the country, the Meteorological Department forecasts continued heat. Punjab is set for a day of severely hot and dry weather across most districts, with strong, dusty winds likely later in the afternoon.

Balochistan will also be hot and dry, especially its plain areas and will see strong, dusty winds.

However, the Meteorological Department notes a slight break in the heat for some northern regions. Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan are predicted to see partly cloudy skies this evening and night. A few places in these areas might even experience gusty winds and thunderstorms, offering some potential relief.

However, light rain is anticipated in Chitral, Dir, and their adjacent areas, which could bring minor relief.
