MAKKAH: Millions of Hajj pilgrims are observing the solemn ritual of Rami (stoning) of the “Greater Satan” today, marking a significant phase of the annual pilgrimage. Following this, male pilgrims will proceed to offer their sacrifices and shave their heads, after which they will remove their Ihram, the special white garments worn during Hajj.

Later, pilgrims will head to Masjid al-Haram to perform Tawaf al-Ziyarah, circumambulating the Kaaba in their regular clothes. They will also perform Sa’i, walking between the hills of Safa and Marwah, dressed in their ordinary attire, signaling a return to less restrictive practices after the intensity of Arafat.

These rituals follow the culmination of the greatest pillar of Hajj, Waqoof-e-Arafat, which millions of pilgrims observed yesterday. After spending the day in prayer and reflection on the plains of Arafat, they moved to Muzdalifah last night. There, they offered their Maghrib and Isha prayers together and collected the pebbles necessary for today’s stoning ritual.

Meanwhile, from Masjid-e-Nimra, the Hajj sermon delivered by Imam of Masjid al-Haram, Sheikh Dr. Saleh bin Abdullah, carried poignant messages. He specifically prayed for the assistance and support of Palestinians and for global peace. Additionally, the sermon strongly urged Muslims to cultivate piety and strictly adhere to the teachings of Allah and His Messenger.
