KARACHI: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted dust storms and rain across all districts of upper Sindh, offering potential relief from the ongoing heatwave.

According to the PMD, strong winds and showers are expected to bring a drop in temperatures in the region.

Meanwhile, rain has also been forecast in Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Islamabad, Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan from today through June 16, as part of a broader weather system affecting the northern parts of the country.

This comes as various parts of the country have been grappling with intense heat.

Earlier, severe temperatures were recorded in Cholistan Desert and Sargodha, where the mercury soared to a scorching 48 degrees Celsius.
