LAHORE: Rain showers and thunderstorms have brought much-needed relief from the intense heat in parts of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).

In Punjab, cities including Lahore, Sargodha, and Bhalwal witnessed varying intensities of rain from light drizzles to heavy downpours offering much-needed respite from the scorching temperatures.

However, the rain also led to power outages in several areas.

In response, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has issued special directives, placing WASA on high alert to address any weather-related challenges.

The rains in Karak city and the suburbs in Pakhtunkhwa also made the weather pleasant, while the pre -monsoon season began in the Middle Eastern parts of Balochistan.
