Two friends drown at Hawke’s Bay

KARACHI: At least three friends drowned while swimming in the sea at Hawke’s Bay, rescue officials reported.

The friends had gone swimming yesterday when they were caught in strong waves. Two of them tragically lost their lives. The group had been staying at hut No. 40 when the incident occurred.

The rescue workers launched a rescue operation, recovering one body on the same day and the second later. The third friend was rescued in an unconscious state and shifted to the hospital.

The deceased were identified as 25-year-old Ali Hassan and 25-year-old Jameel. The third victim , Farhan, was rescued and is currently receiving medical treatment.

The police officials stated that a ban on swimming in the sea is in place, but citizens continue to disregard the restrictions.
