Web Desk: Meta has developed a groundbreaking device capable of controlling other devices through mere thoughts or subtle hand gestures. This innovation promises to revolutionize how users interact with technology.

In a recent blog post, Meta detailed that this wristband-like Bluetooth device allows users to control a computer without physical touch, using only hand gestures. This enables various tasks such as moving a cursor, and even words written in the air can be directly typed onto the computer screen.

The company explained that the device operates on a method called Surface Electromyography (sEMG), which tracks the electrical activity of muscles. Meta believes that sEMG is the “key to a new revolution in the relationship between humans and computers.”

The research findings regarding this device were published by Meta’s researchers in the prestigious journal Nature Science.

According to the researchers, this advancement was made possible thanks to machine learning and Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology. They stated that their neural networks were trained on thousands of individuals’ research data, enabling the device to accurately interpret even the slightest hand movements.

Remarkably, the company claims this method is so effective that the device can even identify the intention behind a gesture, meaning, in simpler terms, that devices can be controlled through thoughts alone. Researchers explained, “You don’t need to move; just intend to move, and the device will execute it.”

This technology could significantly ease computer usage for individuals with disabilities or those who find movement challenging.

However, Meta has not yet disclosed the device’s name, price, or release date, suggesting it is currently in an experimental phase, with future announcements expected regarding its commercial availability.
