ISLAMABAD: A weather alert has been issued warning of potential adverse conditions in various parts of the country until July 31, including the risk of flooding and landslides due to expected rainfall in several areas of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

According to the alert, rainfall is likely in parts of Punjab including Lahore, Sargodha, Hafizabad, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Sialkot, Faisalabad, and Narowal.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department has also forecast heavy rain in Dera Ghazi Khan, Rajanpur, and Rahim Yar Khan, with the possibility of strong water flow in hill torrents of the surrounding areas.

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, areas such as Kohistan, Swat, Malakand, Dir, and Buner may experience flash floods in local streams and rivers due to heavy rainfall.

Meanwhile, Azad Kashmir’s Bhimber, Samahni, and Dhirkot regions have already received significant rainfall, raising concerns of further downpours.
