London: A powerful and unusual scene unfolded at London’s prestigious Royal Opera House when an actor unfurled a Palestinian flag on stage at the conclusion of a performance.

The incident quickly grabbed the attention of the audience and social media, with many hailing the act as a symbol of solidarity with the Palestinian people.

The event took place at the end of Giuseppe Verdi’s opera Il Trovatore. A video circulating online shows a cast member opening the Palestinian flag on stage. A staff member is seen approaching from backstage, attempting to snatch the flag, but the actor held on firmly, preventing it from being taken.

This on-stage protest is the latest in a series of global demonstrations expressing solidarity with the Palestinian people amid the ongoing situation in Gaza. Such displays have become more frequent in recent months across several European countries, including the United Kingdom.
