President calls for enhanced bilateral cooperation with Ghana

ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari said that Pakistan and Ghana enjoyed cordial relations, which needed to be further strengthened for the mutual benefit of both countries.

The president, in a meeting with Pakistan’s Ambassador-designate to Ghana Najeeb Durrani, who called on him at Bilawal House here, called for a focus on promoting economic and trade relations between the two nations.

He highlighted that Pakistan offered a business-friendly environment and asked the ambassador-designate to encourage Ghanaian businesses to undertake joint ventures with Pakistani entrepreneurs and invest in Pakistan’s economy.

President Zardari stressed the importance of strengthening institutional linkages to bring the two countries closer.

He expressed satisfaction that Ghanaian diplomats and engineers were receiving training in Pakistan, terming it a positive step towards expanding bilateral cooperation.

The president congratulated Ambassador Najeeb Durrani on his new assignment and wished him success in effectively representing Pakistan in Ghana.
