PSX hits historic high as KSE-100 Index sets new record

KARACHI: The Pakistan Stock Exchange(PSE) has set a new milestone, with the benchmark KSE-100 Index soaring to its highest level in history.
On Monday, the first trading day of the week and the new fiscal year, the market extended its bullish momentum for the seventh consecutive session.
The benchmark KSE-100 Index surged by 1,187 points shortly after opening, reaching a new all-time high of 133,137 points.
Last week, the Pakistan Stock Exchange’s benchmark KSE-100 Index closed at 131,949 points, recording an impressive gain of 7,570 points over the week. During the five trading sessions, the index moved within a wide range of 7,629 points.
The index touched a weekly low of 124,500 and a high of 132,129 points. Trading activity remained robust, with a total of 4.83 billion shares exchanged during the week.
The total trading value for the week stood at Rs. 206 billion, while the market capitalization rose by Rs. 847 billion, reaching Rs. 15,910 billion.
