Search underway for missing German mountaineer in Hushe Valley

Gilgit-Baltistan: German mountaineer Laura Dahlmeier is still missing in an injured condition after a landslide incident in the Ganche district’s Hushe Valley.

Meanwhile, her fellow climber, Krus Marina Eva, was successfully rescued yesterday.

According to Faizullah Firaq, spokesperson for the Chief Minister of Gilgit-Baltistan, the two German climbers were caught in a landslide on July 28th while attempting to summit Laila Peak.

While Krus Marina Eva has been rescued, Laura Dahlmeier is confirmed to be severely injured and remains unaccounted for.

The Chief Minister of Gilgit-Baltistan has directed all relevant authorities to intensify the search and rescue operation for Laura Dahlmeier. Efforts are currently underway with the assistance of the Pakistan Armed Forces, utilizing helicopters and specialized teams for aerial searches.

Simultaneously, ground rescue teams are also conducting operations to locate the missing climber.
