Train strikes youth using handsfree in Rawalpindi

RAWALPINDI : A young man lost his life after being hit by a train while wearing handsfree earphones, oblivious to the approaching locomotive.

CCTV footage of the incident has surfaced, showing the victim deeply engrossed and unaware of the train coming from behind. The footage captures the tragic moment as the train runs him over.

According to rescue officials, the incident occurred on July 19 along the railway track passing through Chaklala Village.

Earlier,  Pakistan Railways had decided to privatize 11 passenger trains in a move aimed at improving travel facilities and increasing revenue.

According to a spokesperson for the department, the decision has been made to enhance the quality of services offered to passengers and to strengthen the financial performance of the national railway network.

Spokesman Railways said that under the decision, 11 trains would be privatized, including Hazara Express, Bahauddin Zakaria Express, Millat Express, Rawal and Badar Express.

Meanwhile, Ghauri Express, Ravi Express, Thal Express, Faiz Ahmed Faiz and Mohenjo Daro Passenger will also be privatized.
