United Motors increases motorcycle prices in Pakistan

LAHORE: Pakistani motorcycle manufacturer United Motors has also raised the prices of its motorcycles, following the implementation of new tax measures under the Finance Act 2025.
The price hike comes in response to the 18% Sales Tax and 1% New Energy Vehicle (NEV) Levy imposed by the federal government as part of the latest fiscal reforms.
According to the company, the revised prices include all applicable taxes and are effective immediately.
Coming into effect on July 1, 2025, these fiscal changes require manufacturers and assemblers to add the levy and tax to the factory price, a burden now passed on to consumers .
The NEV levy, aimed at discouraging reliance on fossil-fuel vehicles, is modest overall but can add several thousand rupees to popular motorcycle models.
Previously, United had kept prices stable such as the CD70 at Rs 109,500 until mid-2024 and earlier increases were primarily due to production costs and economic factors. Now, with the combined 19% in new taxes, buyers should expect noticeable price hikes, affecting affordability just as the demand for more eco-friendly mobility gains momentum.
