Widespread downpours expected across North & Central Pakistan

Lahore: The latest weather forecast indicates that several parts of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), and Kashmir are likely to experience rain, with some areas bracing for heavy downpours, in the next 2 to 4 hours.

According to Salman Awan’s weather update, Toba Tek Singh, Jhang, Faisalabad, and Hafizabad are expected to see rain. Further predictions include precipitation in Gujrat, Sialkot, Narowal, and Gujranwala.

Rain is also anticipated in Lahore, Kasur, Okara, and Sahiwal within the next 2 to 4 hours. Southern Punjab districts like Vehari, Pakpattan, Khanewal, Multan, Layyah, and Jhang are also forecast to receive rain.

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, areas such as Abbottabad, Mansehra, Haripur, Swabi, Mardan, and Swat are likely to experience rainfall. Further rain is predicted for Charrat, Nowshera, Chakwal, Jhelum, and Attock in the next 2 to 4 hours. Meanwhile, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Murree, Galyat, and Kashmir are expected to see continued rain.

The Meteorological Department has warned that some areas could experience heavy to very heavy rainfall, raising concerns about low-lying areas being submerged.

Reports from the ground confirm ongoing rain, with Khanewal experiencing a spell of heavy rain accompanied by strong winds. In Mianwali, Paplan Tehsil has recorded 54 millimeters of rainfall.

Residents in all affected areas are advised to take necessary precautions.
